Mauro Gioia was born in Milan but at the age of 4 his family moved to Naples. He attended the Accademia delle Belle Arti and he graduated in stage design. Later he got interested in traditional Neapolitan songs. He also studied the Futurist movement in Naples and he carried on researches on cabaret shows.
